Young People’s Empowerment Project II (YPEPII)

YPEPII is currently funded under the Big Lottery – Empowering Young People.  Our work is specifically with young people aged 11 to 18 years from across the Belfast area. The aim of our project is to inform young people on a range of issues that they may face, so they have the correct and up-to-date information to make informed choices that are right for them.

How do we do this?

Community Outreach:

Do you have a group of young people who meet regularly? Have they identified an issue or need that you are unable to facilitate? Below is a range of programmes we offer that may support your group of young people/programme. If there is anything you think may be helpful, why not give us a call on the number below.

Accredited / Non-Accredited Training:

A range of accredited training takes place throughout the year which includes OCN level 1 in Lifeskills, Baby? Think it Over or PX2. Non-accredited programmes include Self-Image & Identity; Internet Safety; Respect for Self & Others; Relationships & Risk Taking Behavior, to name a few. All these programmes have been designed with the support and guidance of young people.

Work in local Secondary Schools:

We deliver a number of our programmes within post primary education facilities throughout Belfast. Our programmes delivered support the PSHE curriculum, Relationship and Sexual Education (RSE), Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (COPE) and Learning for Life and Work (LLW).

Summer Intervention Programme:

Throughout the summer months we run a programme that helps support young people to develop their confidence and self-esteem. This is facilitated through a number of different outdoor activities offered including: Bouldering, Team building, High-ropes, and Canoeing etc.
